Masculine Valentine

I thought I'd share this valentines card with you. I think it would be great to send to a man, not too fussy, but still obviously hand made with love. aahh. :-)

You will need a heat gun and some glitter glue sticks to recreate the wire effect hearts and the words to embellish the card.
You will also need a non stick heat resistant mat. The glue will stick to a glass mat and is quite tricky to remove. I found out the hard way.

I chose to write the word love and then attempted the word Valentine. I think I'll need to practise the longer words a bit more!
The hearts are made by first forming a simple outline and then criss crossing lines from edge to edge to create a mesh.
These cool within seconds and will stand quite rough handling.

The card itself is A5 in size and is matted with a deep grey shade of grey Papermania textured card.
I wrapped two strips of ribbon around the mat and secured them at the back.
These were Papermania wide satin ribbon in soft silver and organza ribbon in jet black.

I cut two hearts using the largest die from the Xcut die-licious nesting dies - Homespun hearts.
The base heart is Papermania black textured card stock and has been off-set to create a shadow effect.
The upper heart is Anitas silver mirror card which has been embossed with the Papermania tri-boss folder - Heart Attack.

Finally the glitter glue embellishments were attached using Anitas Tacky Glue.

The card colour scheme can be changed very easily to suit the preferences of the intended recipient.
Simply changing the base mat card to a pink would create a pretty feminine card.
Try experimenting with different shapes and words and have fun.
