Criss Cross Lucy Cromwell

I made this card using the beautiful Lucy Cromwell double sided Designstax papers and two Papermania square recycled card blanks. I took step-by-step photos as I went along so that you can have a go at making your own version.
The tag inside lifts out to reveal the message. It's a perfect style of card for invitations, gift vouchers and special messages.
The first step is to take  2 identical square card blanks and cut across one side diagonally as shown.
Add double-sided tape to one of the full squares to join the cards together.
When you lay one card on top of the other you will have this basic card shape.
Choose your paper to mat inside the card. This does not need to cover the whole inside as it will only be partially seen.
Add a strip of narrow double-sided tape along the bottom of the card centre.
Fold the right hand side of the card in and secure to the tape. Add a decorative paper mat.
Attach double-sided tape to the left hand side of the card, only in the area which will overlap onto the right side. Fold it in and secure. Add a decorative paper mat.
This will be your base card ready for decoration.
Choose some embellishments and mat them onto kraft card to match the base.
I chose to use toppers and sentiments from the Lucy Cromwell Ultimate paper pack, Anitas Forever Friends ribbon and some satin ribbon roses as an accent.

Hope you have fun making and decorating your own criss cross card :)
