New Decorative Templates

Crafter's Companion are launching some fantastic decorative templates this weekend on Create & Craft TV and I have been lucky enough to get my hands on a few to play with. There are six in the range and I have three to share sneak peeks with you today. There will also be some gorgeous new double sided cardstock which is perfect for larger projects like these.

This little trinket box is in too parts which slot together nicely, and would make the most gorgeous container for a special gift. It is almost egg shaped, so would also be great for Easter. I have used the new Timeless cardstock for this one which I thick looks very classy :)

The Country Cottage template is amazing. There are just so many possibilities with this one. I have given mine quite a clean and fresh look using the Springtime Card and you can see both sides of my chosen design here, with the pinstripes and the roses. I couldn't resist adding roses around the door though. Surely that's compulsory for a country cottage? Not to mention the little cat waiting patiently on the doorstep. A house isn't home without a cat ;)

This last little box is the easiest to put together. It is made from two whole pieces of card so it is quick to make too and looks really effective.

All of the templates have grooves for score lines and for marking out perfect mats if you want to layer up patterned papers. They really have thought of everything.

The shows will be on:
Saturday 2nd May at 9am, 12pm and 6pm
Sunday 3rd May at 11am, 2pm and 7pm.

A touch of the Tweedies

Good morning everyone :)
I have a few card samples to share with you today made using the Tweedies papercraft kit from Crafter's Companion. The particular kit I had to work with is exclusive to Create and Craft and will be featured on TV today at 1pm, along with the Die'sire alphabet and number dies.

This first card is made simply by folding a piece of A4 printed cardstock. I have added text and numbers to personalise the card and have also added a matching button embellishment cut using one of the new Button Box dies.

The 3D frames and decoupage in this kit are stunning. I made a shaped easel card base to show this one off, using ivory Centura Pearl cardstock. I drew around the frame and cut it out by hand.
The numbers are die-cut using the 3" high number dies. Don't they make a statement! I have added a little faux stitching, with a silver gel pen, around the number edges and card base to mirror the stitching on the images.

My third and final card is my favourite from this kit. The frame design is pre-scored ready to assemble and even has a little stand to attach at the back. It also has a perfectly sized little box to keep it safe. I've decorated mine quite simply with a matching topper and some ribbon to tie it closed.

All of the images in this range were originally made up in textiles and this gives them so much depth and an organic feel. Topped with a mixture of silver and gold foiling, the kit is extra special and I have loved working with it :)

Kimono Launch

The team over at Crafter's Companion are just getting ready to launch their new Kimono range and will be on Create and Craft TV on Monday for its debut with a brilliant 4 day deal.
There are four sets of stamps, dies and embossing folders as well as the CD which all go together beautifully.
I have been having a play with the CD and there are some fabulous images on there.
Here are a few of the samples that I have made for the launch. Hope you like them :)

My First Design Team Post

I am so excited to be able to share this with you all.
I have recently joined the Design Team for Crafter's Companion UK and my first project was to create some samples using stamps from the fabulous Sheena Douglas range together with Spectrum Noir pens and pencils. They will be shown on Create and Craft TV this weekend. Woohoo :)
I am a little in awe of the work produced by some of the other Design Team members. I don't think my colouring is anywhere near up to their standard yet but I plan to have lots of fun practising.

Here is a sneak peak of my three samples.

I used the Spectrum Noir blending pencils for this wall hanging and love the effects you can get with them. The stamp set used was Sheena's Butterfly Effect.

I used the same stamp set for the next hanging decoration, but this time used the Spectrum Noir pens. The mdf heart was painted with white acrylic as a base before stamping and colouring.

My final sample is a card using Sheena's Violets stamp set. I stamped the violets twice and cut them out so that I could decoupage the flowers and leaves to give them more dimension. The bee is a fabulous addition to the set.

All that's left to do now is set the programmes to record on Create and Craft this weekend. Hopefully I'll catch a glimpse of my work amongst all the other wonderful samples.
Shout if you see them :) x
