It's all about the Texture

Adding texture to cards will always enhance them by adding dimension and creating interest.
The easiest way to do this is with the use of embossing folders and the new 5x7 Textiles range from Crafter's Companion is just perfect. They are being showcased on Create and Craft TV this weekend at an amazing price, so well worth a look.
I made a few samples for the shows. The first two incorporate a mixture of two folders, Hessian and Distress. The baby card is inked lightly with brown ink. The Cherish card is inked with gold ink and heat embossed

The next two cards have been made using the Parquet folder. The Believe card is inked with white pigment ink onto teal Core'dinations cardstock and heat embossed with Seafoam embossing powder. The Cheers easel card is embossed and inked onto white cardstock and inked with black dye ink.

The tri-fold card is made with a mixture of kraft cardstock and grey core'dinations embossed using the Pebbles folder. The surface was sanded back for this one so that it would absorb the coloured ink more readily.
There are other textured folders in the range and lots more samples to see on the Crafter's Companion website if you need more inspiration.
