Verity Rose

This new launch is an absolute delight and I had so much fun working with it especially the easel card templates. I think I will be using these a lot in the future.
The range is character based and everything is themed around that character.
I was given Cupcake and Moonstruck to work with, so I'll show you what I made with each of them.
This is Cupcake. Her companion is a cute little dormouse with a moustache :)

Next, we have Moonstruck. She has an adorable little owl for her companion.

There is a whole papercraft range to go with the CD, including matching dies and stamps which I have used to complement the CD but it's lovely to have a choice if you prefer one crafting medium.
The range launches tomorrow on Create & Craft TV at 9am with Sara Davies and Lorna Horrocks, for the Craft weekender.
If you can't manage to see any of the shows, there are more inspirational samples and projects on the Crafter's Companion website. It's well worth a look. :)

Textures Elements

I remember buying the first batch of Textures folders and stamps from Crafters Companion about twelve months ago and I absolutely loved them.
There is about to be a new release with some additions to the range and I have been lucky enough to have a few of these to work with :)

To achieve the effect on this stepper card, I used watercolour card which I brushed with water, then 'splatted' on aquatints. Once dry, I embossed it with the 'Rain' folder. I then used a clear ink pad and clear embossing powder just on the raised rain drops and heated it to a gloss finish.

I also made a very similar version, where I added rock salt crystals to the inks before they dried to give a different effect.

I used the 'wind' folder for this Spinner card and inked it with distress ink for a more subtle effect. The swirls would actually work with lots of card themes, but my idea was to emulate the wind blowing the loose leaf across the card into a pile of leaves on the other side. Can you see how my mind works? ;)

My next two projects feature the 'sunbeam' embossing folder. The panel on the card was first coloured with aquatints onto watercolour card. I used core'dinations cardstock to cover the tin, which was inked with aquatints and gold gilding wax.

There will be lots more inspiration soon on the Crafters Companion website, but if you can tune into Create and Craft tv from Monday onwards there will also be live demos. this is the schedule as it stand at the moment.

Hope you've enjoyed this little sneak peak. Would love to hear what you think about the folders and the stamps.
