Everyday Accordion Cards

I've been lucky enough to try out some of the new overlays for accordion cards from Crafter's Companion  which will be launching on Hochanda at 8pm tonight. As well as the expected pretty designs there are also some more masculine designs which I'm sure most people will find really useful.
I made a couple of cards using the woodgrain overlay with the oval accordion card base. I think this one is the most versatile. As well as wood effects I think it also emulates peacock feathers and animal prints. With my love of all things 'Cat' I couldn't resist giving it a tiger makeover.
I then used the same dies in more natural colours with the Verity Rose owl and snowdrops to make a new home card with a woodland feel.
Using the same oval accordion card base die, I then used the Elegance overlay with the Downton Abbey papers to create a more elegant card which would suit many occasions.
Accordion card bases are currently available in oval, circle, square and rectangle.
I used the square card base die with acetate  to give a clear background to the shooting stars overlay as I wanted the stars to 'float'. If you don't like glitter, look away now, hehe. The overlay sections are adhered with Stick-it! which appears almost clear and shows up less than most other adhesives.
Finally I used the Delicate Swirls Overlay with the square accordion base and worked mainly in cream and black to give a lovely strong look. A Mixture of black matt card and black centura pearl worked well as a contrast to the cream hammered card and patterned coffee coloured papers from the Downton Abbey collection.
These type of cards are real statement pieces and you don't get the full effect from photographs. If you can manage to catch one of the shows on Hochanda, you will love them. These are the expected show times but the later shows might change if there are sellouts again.
Hope you've enjoyed seeing my samples. You will be able to see more on the show, on Pinterest or on the Crafter's Companion website. :) x
